I've been on a mission lately to try and spot as many different mushrooms as I can when Stella dog and I are hiking through the woods. I've been amazed at the variety I've been seeing! Combine that inspiration with a set of DayGlo inks I purchase a while back and voila! Fungi and Ferns!
I had so much fun with the colors on this one- definitely had flashbacks to my youth. I couldn't decide on just one color, and since the 80's were all about excess, I decided to print four background choices!
This two color linoleum cut was printed on a bright white cotton paper to really show off that blinding color. I ran the black layer through the press twice to get a nice rich coverage. Just a note- DayGlo inks are extra sensitive to light, so definitely keep this one out of direct sunlight, and expect it to fade a bit over time.
Easily fits into a standard matte or frame.
