All The Swears No. 6 • Monotype and Letterpress Fine Art Print

All The Swears are the first prints in my Murmuration Series. Each print starts as a one-of-a-kind monotype using a layering process that combines different methods on putting ink on the paper. Once all of those layers are dry, I printed 4 separate forms of hand-set metal type on top. And as the name suggests, there's some swear words in there- 15 to be exact!

Why put a bunch of cuss words in my print? I suppose it could be what the birds are saying (which is an amusing thought to me), but it’s mostly based on my love of swear words (there’s a specific friend that was partial inspiration too).

So I asked a bunch of my friends what their favorite swear words were, and started setting them in there as I filled out the forms. Some are almost completely hidden, several are pretty obvious. There's even one word my friend Karin made up in a fit of frustration - twitpisser- which I think everyone should start using!
