If there is one bird I'm hoping to see every time I head south, it's the Roseate Spoonbill! Part Dr. Seuss creation, part dinosaur, they are spectacular creatures. The males and females have similar colors, and the older they get, the bolder their colors get! I think that's something we all can aspire too.
This SEVEN color print was made from 2 separate linocuts using a reduction cut method, plus a woodcut for the background. At the very end, I created a gradient effect inside it's beak by using my finger to spread out a small bit of black ink.
