HOW MOON RABBIT PRESS CAME TO BE
Back in 2009, I was working at a fairly uninspiring graphic design job.
While slacking off at work one day, I came across an article about letterpress printing. I was intrigued, and after a quick search I found a class starting the next week! I signed up immediately.
After my first class I was hooked- I took another, and before I knew it I was spending all of my free time printing.
After a few months of typesetting, I decided I wanted to create my own images for my prints, so I taught myself how to carve linoleum blocks.
THEN IN 2015, TRAGEDY (SEEMINGLY) STRUCK!
After 10 years, I was laid off from my design job! I spent several months freaking out (which ended up inspiring my Bluejay print) before finally deciding to go full time with my art practice.
As the years have gone by my style has refined, my printing has gotten pretty dang good, and my obsession for setting type and playing with big honking metal presses has never been stronger!
I love creating fun and colorful prints that draw on the design sense of the past, but still feel modern in your favorite spaces.
