Hello?! is based on an amazing rotary phone I saw years ago at my favorite antique store, with a little B-52s reference thrown in there for good measure. Part of me misses the slower pace of my youth, when even dialing the phone could be a lesson in patience (my best friend's number ended with 000)!
This SEVEN color print was made from one linocut using a reduction cut method, another linocut for the "hello?!", a woodcut for the background and hand-set metal type for the center of the phone. To get the colors just right this print went through the press a total of NINE times, and features shiny metallic silver ink details in the center of the phone.

As with all hand printed items, variations in color and texture may occur. This is especially true with the black layer on this print, as the coverage varies from print to print.
