Piping Plover Fine Art Linoleum Block Print

For my first shorebird I couldn't resist creating the Piping Plover! During the summer months little cutie can be seen along the northeast coast and the shores of the Great Lakes.

Sadly their populations in the Great Lakes are struggling, mainly due to habitat loss. Fortunately there are some great organizations like Great Lakes Piping Plover Conservation Team  that are helping them out. That’s why I’ll be donating $10 to this organization for every print sold ❤️

This six color print on lush, 100% cotton paper was created from one wood block for the background, and a five color reduction cut linoleum blocks for the bird. Reduction cuts are made by carving into the same piece of linoleum, thereby destroying the block as it is printed. That means there is no going back and reprinting the image!
