Much like the Red-winged Blackbird, I don't remember seeing woodpeckers when I was growing up. They may have very well been there and I just didn't think to look for them. Either way, I get excited these days when I'm walking around my neighborhood and manage to spot one. Their erratic, robot-like moves crack me up every time! Despite their bold look, they can be hard to spot, and sometimes I'm left wondering what I just saw out of the corner of my eye as they hop to the backside of a tree!
This four color print on lush, 100% cotton paper was created from a 3 color linoleum reduction cut and a pressure print. Reduction cuts are made by carving into the same block, thereby destroying the block as it is printed. That means there is no going back and reprinting the image! Easily fits into an 8” x 10” mat or frame.
