As soon as I started my bird series, I was getting requests for a hummingbird print. After playing around with different designs on and off for a couple of years, I am excited to finally have one to offer. Perhaps not so coincidentally, I saw TONS of hummingbirds while I was working on it! I think they were putting in a request too :)
This five color print on lush, 100% cotton paper was created from a woodcut and a 4 color linoleum cuts. Two of the colors started as a reduction cut, then there were 2 more carved blocks (the green is actually a layering of two colors). Reduction cuts are made by carving into the same block, thereby destroying the block as it is printed. That means there is no going back and reprinting the image!
Print easily fits into an 8” x 10” mat or frame.
Matted print will fit in an 11" x 14" frame
