Baltimore Oriole Fine Art Linoleum Block Letterpress Print

Growing up I remember these flashy birds more for the unique nests they would make in the giant weeping willow tree in our front yard. Their hanging hideouts would swing along with the drooping branches they were built around.
In more recent years, my parents have had the luck of having a pair frequent their apple tree. Seeing the bits of oranges move through the apple blossoms in the spring it so exciting!

This five color print on lush, 100% cotton paper was created from a woodcut and a 4 color linoleum cuts. Three of the colors started as a reduction cut. Reduction cuts are made by carving into the same block, thereby destroying the block as it is printed. That means there is no going back and reprinting the image!

Print easily fits into an 8” x 10” mat or frame.
